The Ministry of Education (MOE) and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) launched a campaign in Beijing to help graduates land jobs and boost employment with the joint efforts of universities and private enterprises on May 27.

The ministry and the ACFIC will organize such activities as job fairs, surveys and commendation meetings every spring and autumn to support private companies' high-quality growth through providing talents and help more graduates to land jobs.

Gao Yunlong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and chairman of the ACFIC, attended the event.

Education Minister Huai Jinpeng called on private enterprises to give full play to their role in attracting employment and employing college graduates.

Xu Lejiang, deputy head of the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and executive vice-chairman of the ACFIC, urged the federations of industry and commerce at all levels to guide entrepreneurs to fulfill their social responsibilities through hiring graduates.

Efforts should be made to dock supply and demand, stabilize and expand the job market, and establish stable cooperation between private enterprises and colleges and universities, he noted.

Federations of industry and commerce nationwide should better serve as platforms to improve services for both private employers and graduates through holding job fairs in colleges and universities, mobilizing entrepreneurs to release recruitment plans via livestream, and offering internship for graduates, he added.

In his speech, Xu also called for special attention to graduates in provinces and cities seriously affected by COVID-19.
