Private energy enterprises should play a bigger role in promoting energy transformation and ensuring energy security, and contribute to the sector's scientific and technological self-reliance, self-improvement and sustainable high-quality growth.
Gao Yunlong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), made the remarks at an online symposium on new energy development with venues in Beijing and Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on May 24.
Gao learned about the development of new energy enterprises in the province and heard suggestions on the topic.
China's technological strengths cannot fully meet the needs of the country's new kind of power system, Gao noted, saying that he hopes enterprises would strengthen scientific and technological innovation, especially leading players in the industry, as well as take the initiative to build a consortium for innovation, which will not only drive the collaborative innovation of small- and medium-sized enterprises in the industrial chain, but also enhance alliances between advantageous enterprises.
He called on entrepreneurs to follow the national strategy, align with world-class companies, further improve their management, leadership and international resource allocation, and strive to build time-honored brands.
The meeting was held by the ACFIC as part of the federation's survey on promoting high-quality development of the new energy industry and building a new kind of power system entrusted by the CPC Central Committee.
