Zhang Qingli, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, led a survey to re-examine the implementation of the spirit of the Central Conference on CPPCC Work in Southwest China's Guizhou province from May 9 to 12.

Zhang pointed out that the central conference held in September 2019 has charted the direction and provided guidance for the CPPCC in the new era. New progress has been made in specialized consultative body building, he said, adding that the CPPCC's role in developing whole-process people's democracy and modernizing the national governance system and governance capabilities has been further highlighted.

Zhang urged efforts to study and implement the spirit of the central conference in the long run, and deepen understanding of the conference’s key connotation, major conclusions, and important measures.

He called for summing up experience through theoretical research, field survey and ideological guideline discussion to eliminate deficiency, identify weak links, and take tailored measures for them.

He also stressed building a consensus on the overall work of the Party and the nation so as to provide high-quality advice for high-quality development and set the stage for the 20th National Congress of the CPC with concrete action.
