The Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK) convened a symposium on April 26 on promoting the coordinated development of the southern and northern regions and building a development pattern of common prosperity in Beijing and Liaoning and Heilongjiang provinces simultaneously on-site and online.

Wan Exiang, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and chairman of the RCCK Central Committee, said advancing coordinated regional development to a high level is a vital form of support for the new economic development pattern of "dual circulation" and is also significant to the country's overall development strategy and long-term national security.

To help address the disparity in north-south economic and social development, Zheng Jianbang, executive vice-chairman of the RCCK Central Committee, said efforts are needed to advance coordination at the State level, boost the business environment and market vitality in the northern region, improve the transfer payment mechanism for fiscal funds, and promote the equalization of basic public services.

The RCCK Central Committee has made the topic of promoting coordinated north-south development one of its research priorities this year.
