Liu Xincheng, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), attended an online meeting on April 20 to survey efforts to promote green and low-carbon transformation in North China's Hebei province, which is also a key research topic of the Central Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy (CAPD) this year.

Liu, also executive vice-chairman of the CAPD Central Committee, said China has made resource conservation and environmental protection a fundamental national policy, encourages simple, moderate, green, and low-carbon ways of life, and aims to turn the Beautiful China vision into a reality by 2035.

Efforts are needed to adhere to a conservation-first strategy and motivate governments, society, enterprises, and individuals to go all out to accomplish the mission, which is also a solemn commitment of China to the international community, said Liu.
