Council of China Soong Ching Ling Foundation holds meeting

Li Bin, vice-chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), presided over the second meeting of the standing council of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation's eighth council in Beijing on April 20.

The meeting reviewed and adopted the foundation's development plan outline for the 2022-26 period and its report on fund management in 2021. The participants in the meeting also shared their views and suggestions for the foundation's development for the next five years.

Li, also chairwoman of the foundation, said the next five years will be a critical period for China's goal of fully building a modern socialist country as well as the foundation's new journey and achievements.

Efforts are needed to give full play to the foundation's strengths as a mass organization and a philanthropic organization, promote public welfare projects in science and technology, culture and art, expand its social impact through innovation, and strengthen communication with all sides, according to Li.

The meeting also stressed efforts to summarize the foundation's development experiences in celebration of its 40th anniversary this year, improve its operation and management system, and facilitate the participation of council members in the foundation's work.
