The theoretical learning group of the Central Committee of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League (TDSL) held a study session on China's carbon emission peak and carbon neutrality goals on April 21, the second such group study session held this year.

Su Hui, vice-chairwoman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee and chairwoman of the TDSL Central Committee, attended the meeting.

Wu Guohua, vice-chairwoman of the TDSL Central Committee, said achieving the "dual carbon" goals is an inherent requirement for implementing the new development philosophy, forming the new development paradigm, and promoting high-quality development.

It's necessary to guide compatriots and enterprises in Taiwan to offer suggestions for reaching the goals, integrate into the new development paradigm, and contribute to building a beautiful China, said Wu.

The meeting invited Su Wei, deputy secretary general of the National Development and Reform Commission, to give a lecture on China's efforts to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
