Li Bin, vice-chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), presided over the first Chairperson's Council meeting of the eighth council of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation.
The meeting participants deliberated the foundation's development blueprint for 2022-2026 and work report on fund management in 2021, which will be submitted to the second meeting of the standing council of the foundation's eighth council for review after modifications. They also discussed programs to mark the foundation's 40th anniversary and work related to the kid science day.
In keeping to the right path and making innovations, the foundation will endeavor to play its role as "an important platform to expand people-to-people diplomacy, a key bridge to the peaceful reunification of the motherland, a major organization to promote philanthropy, and a vital force for youth development," according to the meeting's attendees.
Adhering to a people-centered development ideology, the foundation will carefully plan public welfare projects, and strengthen the management of donations and charity projects, the participants pointed out.
In her speech, Li, also chairwoman of the foundation, called for efforts this year to comprehensively summarize the foundation's development and good practices, especially in the period since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012.
