Bater, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met with Sylvia Lucas, vice-chairperson of the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) of South Africa, via video link on April 11.
During the meeting, Bater said China and South Africa have maintained sound momentum for development in their comprehensive strategic partnership and carried out fruitful cooperation to safeguard multilateralism and the common interests of developing countries.
In line with the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, China is willing to work with South Africa to deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields and advance collaboration among BRICS countries, according to Bater.
He added that the CPPCC National Committee is ready to strengthen exchanges with the NCOP and boost ties between the two countries.
Lucas said South Africa values its relations with China and the NCOP is also willing to work with the CPPCC National Committee to make joint efforts in promoting bilateral relations to a new height.
