Su Hui, vice-chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), held a virtual meeting with Michael Reuben Nyambuya, deputy president of the senate of Zimbabwe, on March 17.

Su said China and Zimbabwe have consolidated mutual political trust and achieved fruitful cooperation in various fields since their establishment of diplomatic ties.

China will fully implement the solemn commitments made at the Eighth Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, promote cooperation with Africa in trade, investment and other areas, and continue to support Zimbabwe in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Su.

She also said the CPPCC National Committee is willing to strengthen friendly relations with Zimbabwe's senate and advance bilateral relations.

Nyambuya said Zimbabwe attaches great importance to its relations with China and hopes that the two countries will continue to firmly support each other on issues related to each other's core interests and major concerns.

He also said the senate looks forward to deepening cooperation with the CPPCC National Committee and promoting the China-Zimbabwe relations to a new phase of development.
