The Committee on Foreign Affairs of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) convened the fifth plenary session on Feb 17.

Zheng Jianbang, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, delivered a speech.

Zheng, also executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, said 2021 was a milestone in the history of China and the Communist Party of China. Under the leadership of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee and the Chairperson's Council Meeting, the Committee on Foreign Affairs made new achievements in the areas of intensified research, consultative deliberations and democratic supervision. He called for further learning and implementation of the central leadership's instructions in the work in 2022, focusing on several activities: the fifth session of the 13th CPPCC National Committee, proposing on the implementation of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), innovating ways of foreign exchanges under the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, and strengthening responsibility awareness in serving the Party and the country.

The meeting reviewed the committee's work in 2021 and identified major work plans for 2022.
