Vice-chairmen of the CPPCC National Committee Chen Xiaoguang and Liu Xincheng attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Song Demin, vice-minister of education, said the Ministry of Education (MOE) has taken the reform of education evaluation as a top priority and established a special team for formulating and implementing a general plan for deepening the reform.
Over the past year, efforts were made in conducting explanations and field surveys, formulating a work checklist, carrying out monitoring and supervision, and improving support policies. Problems still remain to be addressed in the implementation process in terms of awareness, capacity and supporting conditions. Next, the MOE will integrate all forces, focus on pilot projects and cases to stimulate grassroots innovation and promote working experiences, and give full play to its guiding role in enhancing grassroots reforming capacity, Song added.
CPPCC members exchanged ideas on such topics as division of vocational and general education, deepening reform of education and teaching methods, talent fostering in higher education, and moral education.
This session was the first of the 11 briefing sessions on issues of major concern to be convened by the CPPCC National Committee in 2022. Three veteran teachers with rich teaching experiences were invited to share their ideas on related topics at the session.
