More than 80 people attended the 13th Plenary Session of the China-Russia Friendship Committee for Peace and Development (CRFCPD) that took place on Dec 28 via video link.

Xia Baolong, the Chinese-side chairman of the CRFCPD, and his Russian counterpart Boris Titov participated in the meeting in Beijing and Moscow respectively.

The attendees summarized and positively evaluated the CRFCPD's work in the past two years. Participants also exchanged views on accelerating the implementation of the consensus reached by the two heads of state, deepening good-neighborliness and friendly cooperation, and supporting people-to-people exchanges.

Xia, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), hailed the progress of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination in the new era. He urged the CRFCPD to go all out to promote public diplomacy and elevate bilateral ties with a greater sense of mission and responsibility.

Titov expressed congratulations on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), as well as China's victory in the battle against poverty. He said the Russian side is willing to promote mutual understanding and traditional friendship between the two peoples through the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the CRFCPD and the Russia-China Years of Sports Exchanges in 2022.
