Gao Yunlong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), attended a forum on the development of the private economy in Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province on Nov 1. The forum was co-hosted by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) and the Zhejiang provincial government.

Gao, also chairman of the ACFIC, emphasized at the forum the significance of promoting the healthy development of the private economy and the personnel engaged in the sector in the new era, known as the initiative of "healthy development on two fronts".

The ACFIC, the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and the provincial government jointly launched a pilot area in Wenzhou to put into practice the guiding principles of the initiative three years ago, a move supported by the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee.

Gao called on private enterprises to align their ideas and actions with the country's development priorities, forge ahead with confidence, keep the market expectations stable, and be firmly committed to a innovative development path.

He also urged federations of industry and commerce at all levels to be committed to the initiative, provide timely support and service to private enterprises, and help address their difficulties actively and earnestly.
