A team led by Wan Gang, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), visited Southwest China's Chongqing municipality for a survey of rural vitalization from Oct 16 to 18. 

Wan, also chairman of the Central Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party, called for more efforts to advance the over three decades-long cooperation between the party and Youyang Tujia and Miao autonomous county in Chongqing to a new level. 

Since the launch of a program to provide talent support to the border and remote areas and alleviate poverty through science and technology in 1990, the Central Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party has backed Youyang's development at multiple levels, through multiple channels and in multiple dimensions.

The team visited the Wulingshan Camellia Oleifera Research Institute, an e-commerce start-up incubation park established with the help of the China Zhi Gong Party and Tianshanbao village. It also held a symposium to plan for consolidating and expanding poverty alleviation results and guaranteeing a smooth transition into rural vitalization. 

Wan said cooperation between the two sides is an outcome of poverty alleviation and development theory with Chinese characteristics, as well as the system of multiparty cooperation and political consultation led by the Communist Party of China. 

The Central Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party will continue to buttress Youyang's development, deepen cooperation in the new era, and help the county implement the rural vitalization strategy and embark on a new journey to fully build a modern socialist country, said Wan. 

In line with Youyang's needs and actual situation, efforts will be made to offer more support in areas that include talent cultivation, education, healthcare, industrial development and technological support, pooling resources, and improving efficiency, Wan stressed. 

During his visit to Chongqing, Wan also attended the China Automotive T10 Summit 2021.
