Zheng Jianbang speaks at symposium marking 1911 Revolution anniversary

Zheng Jianbang, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), attended a symposium to mark the 110th anniversary of the 1911 Revolution in Beijing on Oct 18. 

The meeting was jointly organized by the China Research Association of the 1911 Revolution and the Sun Yat-sen Culture Exchanges Association, with the theme on advancing the great cause of the reunification of the motherland and creating a better future together. 

Zheng, who is also executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK), said the 1911 Revolution marked the start of a true national democratic revolution in modern China, helped to greatly liberate the minds of the Chinese people, spread the ideas of democracy and republicanism, and significantly promoted social transformation in China with tremendous power and profound influence. 

As a political party upholding Sun Yat-sen's patriotism and devotion to the motherland and progress, the RCCK has witnessed, engaged in, supported and safeguarded the endeavor of building socialism with Chinese characteristics and will resolutely work with the Communist Party of China as its good advisor, assistant and colleague, said Zheng. 

Zheng also said the RCCK will be committed to advancing cross-Straits relations, peaceful reunification of the motherland, and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
