A delegation led by Zheng Jianbang, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), surveyed efforts to improve legal protection and policy guidance for boosting China's strategic scientific and technological strength during a visit to Beijing's Huairou district on Sept 14.

Zheng, also executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, said Huairou Science City, as one of the capital city’s three major science hubs, has already made important progress in building state-level S&T infrastructure and interdisciplinary research platforms. He noted future endeavors should address challenges, including the marketing of high-end domestic equipment and the shortage of top-notch talents.

Zheng also said the key to promoting and commercializing technology research lies in the removal of institutional barriers and the integration of legal and policy approaches.

Apart from Huairou, the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang has already made visits to Jiangsu, Guangdong and Shaanxi provinces this year for the same purpose.
