Wang Yongqing, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a research team to East China's Shandong province from Sept 8 to 10 to improve the quality and efficiency in handling foreign-related judicial affairs.

During the visit to Jinan and Qingdao cities, the team met relevant authorities, law enforcement officers, lawyers, arbitrators, business leaders and experts to exchange ideas and solicit suggestions.

Wang said Shandong has made strides on many fronts in handling foreign-related law enforcement and judicial affairs with improved capacity, new practices and a stronger talent pool. Such progress provides a legal guarantee for the province's rise as a new hot spot of reform and opening-up, Wang said.

To achieve more progress, he also urged active efforts to blaze a trail by improving judicial credibility, increasing efficiency, lowering costs, and training talent.
