Led by Ma Biao, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), a research team visited Shandong and Anhui provinces from Sept 3 to 10 to promote the inheritance of fine traditional Chinese culture and enhance the cohesion of the Chinese nation.

The team made visits to eight cities, including the two provinces' capital cities Jinan and Hefei,  and also exchanged views during meetings with provincial governments and relevant departments on Sept 4 and 10.

Ma said the two provinces have made new achievements and accumulated experiences in giving full play to their rich cultural heritage and keeping alive the fine elements of traditional Chinese culture.

With such visits, the team of personages without party affiliation, one of the 34 participating groups of the CPPCC National Committee, consolidated their confidence in Chinese culture and got more committed to enhancing the cohesion of the Chinese nation and self-motivated to contribute to China's goal of building a great modern socialist country in all respects, added Ma.
