A team led by Liu Xincheng, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), visited Northwest China's Qinghai province to improve work on culture and historical data in the new era.

Liu said this work, as a fundamental part of the CPPCC's work, has made substantial progress since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 2012, and is now developing in diverse ways.

Centering on the core idea of learning from history to create a bright future and building a broad consensus, the work should focus on the collection of personal accounts by CPPCC members who are witnesses to history, record the stories of the united front, and communicate the voice of the CPPCC, Liu said.

The team from the Committee on Culture, Historical Data and Studies of the CPPCC National Committee paid visits to Hualong Hui and Xunhua Salar autonomous counties, the city of Tongren and Jianca county, where they surveyed the inheritance and development of cultural heritage of ethnic minorities, as well as the collection of historical materials.
