Wang Yang, chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, visited an exhibition of artwork by members of the CPPCC National Committee in the field of calligraphy and paintings at the National Art Museum of China on Aug 25.

Attentively appreciating the exhibits, Wang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, pointed out the exhibition, held at a time when the CPC is celebrating its centenary, is not only an exhibition of calligraphy and paintings but also an exhibition of the histories of the CPPCC and the Party's united front.

Extolling the Party, the Chinese people, China's magnificent landscape and the socialist system with Chinese characteristics, the exhibition showcases, among others, the strong vitality of the system of multi-party cooperation and political consultation under the leadership of the CPC.

The exhibition displayed over 200 pieces of works from 120 artists who are members of the 13th CPPCC National Committee or were members of the first to 12th National Committees of the CPPCC. The exhibits included such arts as traditional Chinese paintings, printmaking, sculpture, comics and calligraphy.
