He Wei, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee and executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, led a team to survey black soil protection in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province from July 9 to 12.
He pointed out the CPPCC National Committee's democratic and supervisory survey of black soil protection aimed to promote the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature and boost people's wealth as well as the country's strength and charm.
He stressed that enhancing black soil protection is a key step in achieving the sustainable development of the Chinese nation and the rural vitalization in Northeast China.
The survey team must build a consensus and conduct consultations while doing sustained supervision, He said.
He also called for efforts to explore new ways of supervision, strengthen coordination, and pool strength from all parties engaged in democratic supervision.
