Zheng Jianbang, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), called for improving foreign trade competitiveness during a survey tour in East China's Shandong province from July 11 to 14.
At a symposium during his tour in Shandong, Zheng suggested focusing on domestic circulation, developing the country into a strong magnetic field for global resources, and coordinating domestic and foreign demands, imports and exports, as well as foreign investment attraction and outbound investment.
Zheng stressed the quality of export products, saying that the quality, brand, technology and service of export products are critical to winning the international market competition.
He urged Chinese enterprises to align to international standards and rules, focus on their own advantages, and take steps to rebuild their industrial foundation and improve quality.
Zheng also proposed exploring the international market, further improving the business environment, advancing high-quality development of the Belt and Road, deepening international cooperation on production capacity, expanding the third-party international market, and fostering a reciprocal industrial and supply chain cooperation system that can yield win-win results.
It is necessary to further optimize the environment for foreign trade, make good use of trade facilitation mechanisms and help solve prominent problems in bilateral trade and difficulties faced by enterprises, Zheng noted.
