Zheng Jianbang holds video call with vice-presidents of Rwandan Senate

Zheng Jianbang, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, met with Esperance Nyirasafari and Alvera Mukabaramba, vice-presidents of the Senate of Rwanda, via video link on June 17. 

Noting that the bilateral relationship between the two countries has been developing smoothly since the establishment of their diplomatic ties, Zheng said that China is willing to deepen its reciprocal cooperation with African countries, including Rwanda, in both the Belt and Road construction and the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, in order to advance the China-Africa comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership. 

He also said that the CPPCC National Committee is willing to strengthen its ties with the Senate of Rwanda in order to bring tangible benefits to the two countries and their people. 

Congratulating the Communist Party of China on the 100th anniversary of its founding, Nyirasafari and Mukabaramba said that Rwanda is willing to actively participate in Belt and Road construction and enhance its pragmatic cooperation with China in various areas. 

They also echoed Zheng's call for closer ties between the CPPCC National Committee and the Senate of Rwanda.
