Li Bin, vice-chairwoman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, attended a symposium on forest activities in Xianyang, Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on June 10.
Li, also head of a national organizing committee for monitoring forest activities, spoke highly of the efforts made by the committee, saying it has been practicing the vision that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" and making progress in inheritance and innovation.
Li called for strategic thinking and a big-picture perspective in forest activities and emphasized the role of the public and long-term endeavors for the construction of ecological civilization.
She noted that it is necessary to improve organizational leadership and take various measures such as suggestion collection, publicity activities, science popularization, and greening to raise public awareness of forest activities.
