Lu Zhangong inspects preparatory work for Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics

Lu Zhangong, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, led an inspection over the preparatory work of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing and Zhangjiakou, Hebei province, from June 7 to 9. 

The inspection team, made up of non-Party members of the CPPCC National Committee, visited a number of Olympic venues, a winter sports-themed town and related industrial parks. They also held talks with officials from the Beijing Organising Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and the General Administration of Sport of China as well as officials from Beijing, Hebei and Zhangjiakou. 

The CPPCC members said that they were inspired by the preparatory work which boosts their confidence in ensuring the success of the Beijing 2022 Winter Games, popularizing winter sports in China, and achieving the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. 

They also called for efforts to make sure that the Olympics will be green, inclusive, open and clean and that the Olympic legacy will be properly utilized.
