Bater leads inspection of new infrastructure development in Chongqing

A team led by Bater, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), inspected the development of new-type infrastructure during a visit to Chongqing municipality from May 24 to 28. 

The team of members of the CPPCC National Committee visited industrial parks and enterprises in Chongqing's six districts and counties, held extensive talks with those working at the grassroots level and the frontline, and exchanged ideas with the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and the municipal government. 

In recognizing the progress that Chongqing has achieved in infrastructure upgrades, Bater called for giving full play to the CPPCC's institutional advantages and adopting multiple measures to promote the national strategy in order to lay a solid foundation for high-quality development. 

He emphasized the importance of taking a systemic approach for the initiative and the need to make breakthroughs in key technologies in order to improve self-reliance and safety of new-type infrastructure development. 

He added that infrastructure development should align with current development strategies including rural vitalization and address core concerns in the development of the real economy.
