Wan Gang delivers keynote address at 5th World Intelligence Congress

Wan Gang, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, attended the opening ceremony of the 5th World Intelligence Congress held in Tianjin municipality on May 20. 

In his keynote address delivered at the event, Wan, who is also the chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), noted that the congress has been held in Tianjin four times, and has become a flagship conference in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). 

Recognizing the progress the city has made in fostering its next-generation AI industry, he called on attendees to grasp this new AI development trend, fully utilize China’s institutional strength and market size, and devote Chinese solutions to the technology's global development. 

He also stressed the importance of cultivating talents for the development of China's AI industry, and said he expects Chinese scientists, enterprises and managers in the field to enhance cooperation with their foreign peers in order to benefit the whole world with AI technology.
