Ma Biao, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, led a survey of the work of science popularization in Beijing on May 18.
The team led by Ma visited the China Science and Technology Museum, China Science and Technology Press (Popular Science Press), the Geological Museum of China and the main campus of Beijing Bayi School during their tour.
The survey helped team members cement their consensus on the significance of raising the science literacy of the public to China's innovation capability.
It also deepened their understanding of the need to give equal attention to both science popularization and technological innovation.
