Liu Qibao, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, led an inspection of the study of Party history in East China's Jiangxi province from May 12 to 15.
Composed of non-Party members from all 34 groups of the CPPCC National Committee, the inspection team is the biggest non-Party members thematic inspection team since the establishment of the 13th CPPCC National Committee.
During their stay in Jiangxi, the team visited red revolutionary relics in Ruijin, Yudu and Jinggangshan, paid respect to the revolutionary martyrs and listened to the Red Army's stories from their descendants. The team also visited the Ganzhou international land port and Nankang town where they learnt about the tremendous changes these old revolutionary bases have experienced.
Members of the team said that this trip was soul-cleansing. They pledged to inherit the red genes, carry forward the fine traditions, and salute the centenary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) with practical action and outstanding performance.
Liu said that Party history learning is not only necessary for Party members, but also the political responsibility of CPPCC members who must educate and improve themselves. He urged CPPCC members to further deepen their learning of Party history, better understand the CPC's original aspirations, and stay in line with the Party to promote the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
