Su Hui, vice-chairwoman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee and chairwoman of the Taiwan Democratic Self-government League (TDSL) Central Committee, led a survey team to South China's island province of Hainan between April 9 and 12.

The aim of the survey was to learn about the latest progress in the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port, and the participation of Taiwan compatriots in its construction.

The team visited oil storage and container management piers, an international medical tourism pilot zone and an agricultural company in the Yangpu Economic Development Zone and the cities of Qionghai and Wenchang.

On April 9, the team listened to reports by Vice-governor of Hainan Ni Qiang and officials from the province's various government departments on the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port and the province's efforts to raise its level of opening-up.
