The fourth China EU Association (CEUA) council meeting was held on March 31 at the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC). The meeting adopted the revised charter of the association. 

Liu Qibao, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), was elected president of the council and delivered a speech at the meeting.

Liu called for fully drawing on the advantages of the association as a platform to facilitate communications between China and the European Union in such areas as science, education, culture, health and sports as well as exchanges between think tanks, media organizations, youth and local people of the two sides.

He also urged cooperation on topics of common interest such as green industry, artificial intelligence, the digital economy and high-end manufacturing, which will help enhance mutual understanding and trust between the Chinese and European peoples, show the world a real, multifaceted and comprehensive China, and contribute to building a community of shared future for mankind.
