Gu Shengzu, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, led a survey on consolidating and expanding achievements of poverty alleviation and promoting rural vitalization in Qianxi county, Southwest China's Guizhou province, from March 25 to 26.
Commending Guizhou for its progress in carrying out these tasks, Gu said that the comprehensive implementation of the rural vitalization strategy is of great significance to the realization of China's two centenary goals and the building of a modern socialist country in an all-round way.
He stressed the need to boost rural industrial development, attract talents to the countryside, draw investment to villages, protect arable land, and promote the county-based urbanization strategy.
The survey was part of the preparation for a thematic consultative seminar to be held by the CPPCC National Committee in late May.
