A meeting for the handover of proposals submitted during the fourth session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) was held on March 18 in Beijing.

Zhang Qingli, vice-chairman of the 13th CPPCC National Committee, attended and spoke at the meeting, which was presided over by Li Bin, vice-chairwoman and secretary-general of the 13th CPPCC National Committee.

Another vice-chairman, Shao Hong, who is also the executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Jiusan Society, was also present at the gathering.

Noting that 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the beginning of the country's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, Zhang emphasized in his speech the importance of ensuring that every proposal is handled professionally.

He also called for pursuing desirable ripple effects from the proper handling of key proposals and a higher satisfaction rate among CPPCC members.

During her speech, Li demanded innovations to the way proposals are handled and more negotiations between CPPCC members and handling departments.

She said that the CPPCC National Committee will also create platforms and other favorable conditions to raise the overall level of the proposal-handling work.
