Bater, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, spoke at an in-person session, held by one of the committee's reading groups on Feb 24, which focused on Xinjiang-related stories.

Bater pointed out that the group has helped to enrich CPPCC members' knowledge about Xinjiang's history and culture and to build a consensus around the goal of building a beautiful Xinjiang.

He also suggested that CPPCC members' reading activity should be combined with the learning of the CPC's history in order to improve members' performance of their duties.
