A conference to commend private enterprises and entrepreneurs for their outstanding performance in creating jobs and caring for employees was held via video link in Beijing on Feb 8. 

Gao Yunlong, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, delivered a speech at the event, which was jointly hosted by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. 

In his speech, Gao, who is also the chairman of the ACFIC, called for fully recognizing the important role of the private sector in stabilizing and increasing employment. 

He pointed out the need for a favorable business environment in improving employment.

Departments of human resources and social security at all levels should make efforts to promote the implementation of decisions of the central government on supporting the development of private enterprises, said Gao.

He also urged all trade unions to play a role in cultivating industrial workers, promoting the implementation of various employment policies, and supporting reform and innovation of private companies’ trade unions. 

Federations of industry and commerce should also help facilitate the development of private enterprises, he added.  

During the meeting, 92 private companies, 29 trade unions of private enterprises and 64 entrepreneurs were commended.
