The leading Party members group of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee meet to study an important speech delivered by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, at the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC, as well as the guiding principles of the session, in Beijing, China, Jan 27, 2021. The meeting was presided over by Wang Yang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and secretary of its leading Party members group. BEIJING -- Senior members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee met Wednesday to study an important speech delivered by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, at the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the CPC, as well as the guiding principles of the session. 

The meeting of the leading Party members group of the CPPCC National Committee was presided over by Wang Yang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and secretary of its leading Party members group. Wang delivered a speech at the meeting. 

Participants stressed the importance of thoroughly studying Xi's speech which serves as a guide to deepen the full and strict governance over the Party. 

The meeting called for efforts to align the thinking and actions with decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee and the guiding principles of the session. 

The CPPCC members pledged to fully implement the CPPCC National Committee's work plan for democratic oversight, and incorporate democratic oversight into the supervision system of the Party and the country.
