The All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) will launch the 10,000 Enterprises Revitalizing 10,000 Villages program next year building on the success of a targeted poverty alleviation campaign with the help of private firms, said Gao Yunlong, chairman of the federation.
Gao, also vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), announced the plan at the fourth meeting of the 12th ACFIC Executive Committee held in Nanning, South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Dec 21 and 22.
In delivering the federation’s work report, Gao said great achievements were made in 2020 in mobilizing private enterprises to combat the COVID-19 outbreak and facilitating the introduction of relief measures to help companies hit by the pandemic get back on track.
The 10,000 Enterprises Helping 10,000 Villages campaign, initiated in 2015 nationwide to engage at least 10,000 private firms to help at least 10,000 villages shake off poverty, will be upgraded into the 10,000 Enterprises Revitalizing 10,000 Villages program.
For the new year, the ACFIC will make more efforts to support the high-quality development of the private economy and encourage private enterprises to contribute more to the country's rural revitalization through the 10,000 Enterprises Revitalizing 10,000 Villages program.
Gao also called for a deeper study of the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and the Central Economic Work Conference, which provide the blueprint guiding the country's march towards modernization.
