Zheng Jianbang, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, has called for further integration of scientific innovation with industrial chains of the Yangtze River Delta region.

Zheng made the remarks when leading a team from the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang in a survey tour in Anhui province from Dec 16-18.

The team visited Hefei-based leading AI company iFlytek, the Institute of Advanced Technology and a quantum control laboratory of the University of Science and Technology of China, and BOE Display Technology Co, and held seminars with the province's officials, experts and entrepreneurs.

Zheng stressed independent innovation, integrated development of industrial chains and innovation, and high-level opening-up in a bid to develop the region into a leader in China’s new development paradigm.

He called for thinking in big-picture terms, and expected the region to further deepen reform and expand opening-up, seize the opportunities brought about by a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation in the world, and give full play to their strengths in geographical location and resources so as to make greater achievements.

Zheng added that the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang will strive to offer high-quality reports for the region's development based on the team's survey in four provincial regions, including Shanghai, Anhui, Zhejiang and Jiangsu.
