BEIJING -- Wang Yang, chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, on Wednesday met with Sadiq Sanjrani, chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, via video link, pledging to enhance friendly exchanges with Pakistan.
Wang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, hailed the vigor demonstrated in the two countries' anti-pandemic cooperation this year.
Wang said the two sides should take the opportunity of the 70th anniversary of their establishment of diplomatic ties next year to maintain high-level contacts and advance anti-pandemic cooperation. He called for building the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor in a high-quality way, deepening economic, trade, and financial cooperation, and cementing people-to-people exchanges.
Wang also said the CPPCC is ready to reinforce friendly ties with the Pakistani Senate.
Sanjrani appreciated China's progress in combating COVID-19, expressing readiness to work with China to promote the Pakistan-China all-weather strategic partnership of cooperation to score new achievements.
