BEIJING -- Members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee have offered suggestions on improving international cooperation on education during a consultation session in Beijing.

The biweekly session, held recently by the CPPCC National Committee, was presided over by Wang Yang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.

Wang stressed efforts to promote tangible and in-depth international cooperation in the education field to ensure a sufficient supply of talent for the high-quality development of Belt and Road cooperation, and to increase its public appeal.

Calling for cooperation in the people-to-people and cultural fields, as well as exchanges of education policies with countries along the Belt and Road, CPPCC members at the session suggested more cooperation in education among universities and vocational colleges from home and abroad.

They also proposed enhancing cooperation on Chinese-language education abroad, and encouraging local governments and enterprises to participate in such cooperation.
