Private enterprises should further improve their awareness of standardization and promote innovative standardization of brands in a bid to improve their products and services and contribute to China's great brand strategy.
Gao Yunlong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), made the remarks at a conference jointly held by the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and the ACFIC on Oct 10.
Promoting standardization in the private sector is an important way to help private firms enhance their quality of development and to increase the self-discipline of chambers of commerce, Gao said, adding it is also significant to the modernization of the system and capacity for national governance, as well as to the "dual circulation" new development pattern and the healthy development of both the public and non-public economies, according to him.
In his speech, Gao urged the chambers of commerce under the ACFIC to promote the standardization of organizations, speed up improvements in their standardization mechanisms and dock with national and local standardization management institutions and their professional organizations.
He stressed that efforts should be made to explore the method and path of standardization in various categories, such as technology, management, service and self-discipline, calling on chambers to give full play to such standards in formulating rules, so as to help chambers improve their services, guidance and self-discipline.
SAMR Minister Zhang Gong noted that standardization in the private sector is an important measure for making up for the weakness of the private economy and implementing the standardization strategy. It is also a way for chambers to fulfill their duty and mission to achieve high-quality economic growth.
A standardization working committee of the ACFIC was launched at the meeting.
