Promoting the high-quality growth of the healthcare industry is part of the Healthy China Initiative, and can help satisfy people's needs for a better life.

Zheng Jianbang, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of Chinese Kuomintang, made the remarks at the second Healthy China Development Conference and TCM Industry-Education Integration Development Conference, which opened in Nanjing, East China's Jiangsu province on Oct 11.

He pointed out that promoting high-quality development in the healthcare industry is also a way to ensure stability on six fronts -- employment, financial sector, foreign trade, foreign investment, domestic investment, and expectations -- while maintaining security in six areas: job security, basic living needs, operations of market entities, food and energy, stable industrial and supply chains, and the normal functioning of primary-level governments.

Zheng stressed that giving full play to the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a necessary part of the Healthy China strategy and hoped the city and the province would dock the health cause with the healthcare industry, promote TCM industry-education integration, and contribute more to the high-quality growth of China's health sector.
