Lu Zhangong leads survey of poverty relief, development in Guizhou

A delegation of CPPCC National Committee members conducted a survey of poverty alleviation and industrial development in Southwest China's Guizhou province from Sept 14 to 17.

Led by Lu Zhangong, vice-chairperson of the CPPCC National Committee, the delegation talked with local residents, visited relocated communities and local enterprises and learned about the red tourism industry in the provincial capital city of Guiyang, the province's second largest city Zunyi, and the southern and southeastern regions of Guizhou.

Guizhou has made leapfrog progress in economic and social development, as affirmed by the delegation, and the province is expected to keep good momentum to win the battle against poverty and achieve the goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects.

During the tour, the members enhanced their understanding and recognition of the policies and guidelines made by the CPC and the central government.

They also visited the site of the Zunyi Conference, a red tourism attraction.
