The Standing Committee of the 12th Executive Committee of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) convened its fifth session on the support for private enterprises by videoconference in Beijing on July 28.
Gao Yunlong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and ACFIC chairman, delivered a speech during the session.
Acknowledging that the combination of the downward pressure of the Chinese economy and the COVID-19 pandemic has caused difficulties for the country's private sector so far this year, Gao called on the ACFIC to fully draw on its advantages to help private enterprises fend off the pandemic and resume their work and production in an orderly way.
He said that despite the unprecedented difficulties facing China's private enterprises, there are still new opportunities emerging from the crisis.
Referring to the unprecedented relief package released by the central government for private enterprises, Gao called on private enterprises to show resilience and confidence.
He also required the ACFIC to focus on implementation of the preferential policies of the central government for private enterprises as China's pandemic prevention and control work becomes routine.
