Wang Zhengwei, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chief of the Sino-African friendship group of the CPPCC National Committee, met with a delegation of young legislators from African countries at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Dec 17, 2019. The delegation was led by Segepoh Solomon Thomas, vice-president of the Parliament of Sierra Leone.

Wang said China and Africa are a community with a shared future and interests that values win-win cooperation. The Sino-African friendship group of the CPPCC National Committee will stick to "Sincerity, Real Results, Affinity and Good Faith" — the principles for China's African policy, to develop friendly ties with African nations, people and organizations. The group is also expected to contribute to implementing the consensuses reached at the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and push forward the Belt and Road Initiative. Wang introduced the fourth plenary session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the central conference on CPPCC work and the CPPCC system.

Thomas and other delegates praised the unique advantages of China's consultative democracy system and said they expect to strengthen cooperation with the Sino-African friendship group to promote the development of Africa-China ties.
