BEIJING -- Wang Yang met with President of the Cyprus House of Representatives Demetris Syllouris on Friday in Beijing.

Wang, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said China is willing to see the implementation of major consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen policy coordination, extend areas of cooperation, and enhance the joint building of the Belt and Road.

The CPPCC National Committee stands ready to facilitate exchanges with various fields of Cyprus' society and play a positive role in deepening the traditional friendship between the two countries, Wang said.

Syllouris expressed the hope that Cyprus will enhance pragmatic cooperation with China in various areas.
