Headed by Liu Xincheng, vice-chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and organized by the Committee on Culture, Historical Data and Studies, an inspection team visited Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region from Oct 21 to 25 to investigate the development of grassroots public cultural programs. 

The team consisted of several CPPCC National Committee members and professionals in art and culture. 

Collaborating with Guangxi's CPPCC committee, the inspection team also held activities themed around "Sending Culture to the Grassroots". 

During their stay in Guangxi, the inspection team went to Du'an county, Huanjiang county and Yizhou district under the jurisdiction of Hechi city to carry out on-site investigations into public cultural efforts. Additionally, the delegation staged performances, presented local people with books and calligraphy works, and gave a lecture on music and calligraphy. 

The inspection tour, focusing on the development of public culture, is part of the CPPCC National Committee's efforts to improve public culture services and provide various cultural activities for people. With the support of the Committee on Culture, Historical Data and Studies, the team was committed to offering cultural services to local communities, bringing them the government's care and making them feel CPPCC National Committee members are accessible.   

During the inspection tour, Liu said local governments should have a deep understanding of the power and function of culture and attach great importance to basic public cultural services. He also suggested adhering to people-centered principles and adopting new methods to develop public culture services in the new era. 

"Boasting rich history and culture, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region should place its features, especially the characteristics of local ethnic groups, in a prominent position to give strong cultural and moral support for economic growth," said Liu. 

Wang Rulin and Ding Wei, both vice-chairmen of the Committee on Culture, Historical Data and Studies, participated in the inspection tour. 

Lu Xinshe, secretary of the CPC Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region committee, met with the inspection team.
