The Standing Committee of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference made a decision to convene its ninth meeting in early November in Beijing, at the 27th chairperson's council meeting of the 13th CPPCC National Committee held on Sept 25.

Attendees agreed that the Central Conference on the CPPCC Work marking the 70th anniversary of founding of the CPPCC reminds Party members of the founding mission, consensus, capabilities and responsibilities.

They also called for more efforts in implementing the spirit of the conference and advancing the cause of the CPPCC at the new historical starting point.

Wang Yang, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, presided over the meeting. He said the Central Conference is an important meeting in the history of the CPPCC.

Wang said studying and implementing the spirit of the conference is the primary political task of political consultative institutions and CPPCC members at various levels in the immediate future and for some time to come.

Wang also noted efforts should be made in mobilizing people and promoting publicity in an attempt to retain a good environment for studying and exchanging ideas, and said the missions and requirements outlined at the conference should be translated into action.

The chairperson's council meeting reviewed and approved the draft agenda and schedule of the meeting to be held in November.
