From Sept 2 to 6, Lu Zhangong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, led an inspection team to Yunnan province to review its achievements since the founding of the People's Republic of China.

The delegation of CPPCC National Committee members went to the provincial capital city of Kunming and Honghe Hani and Yi autonomous region to learn about Yunnan's economic development and changes over the past 70 years. They also held discussions with local authorities.

Yunnan's remarkable achievements earned recognition from the inspection team. Over the past 70 years, Yunnan, together with the whole country, has made significant strides in economic development and grown more powerful, according to the CPPCC National Committee members in the delegation.

After decades of hard work, the province has seen huge changes and achieved development in all aspects, they said. The results can be attributed to the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the superiority of the socialist system and people's joint efforts.

The CPPCC National Committee members hope that Yunnan will continue to boost local development, strive to address the problems of inequitable and insufficient growth and meet people's new needs and expectations to make new progress.

Chen Hao, Yunnan's Party secretary, met with the inspection team.

Lu also visited and communicated with some CPPCC National Committee members working in Yunnan.
